Indigo Full Moons
Indigo Full Moons
Indigo dyed 12 times. A long but loved process by the artisan, Lourdes.
About Indigo and the Dyeing Process
Indigo dyeing is as old as our ancestors. There is a cultivar of Indican/Indigo bearing plants all over the world and it takes a collection of experience (or experiments if you may) to coax that blue out of the plant because its molecules are insoluble.
And to arrive at the darkest shade of blue is to sit with an indigo vat for hours, dipping the cloth and letting the vat rest in between. Each piece available here were dip 12x,for about 5 minutes every time. Resting the vat for 15-30mins between each dip.
Full Moon Blessing Recommendation
When you receive your piece, hang it on your east facing window during full moon, or better yet, if possible, outside to bathe in the moonlight overnight. Full moon represents fertility, abundance and transformation. At its peak illumination, it symbolizes completion and clarity. Reflect on what’s going on in your life that is nearing the end or taking roots. Think of what is being illuminated for you even for things that aren’t close to the finish line yet. Take this time to celebrate your wins, big and small. Journal it out. After this full moon blessing, hang it where you want in your home or put it away and take it out again for your next full moon ritual.
Each tapestry order includes a Lunar calendar by Winnipeg-based artist Jodi Hildebrand.
